Missions
Missio Dei; mission of God
Church history tells the story of God's work among all the peoples of the world, played out through the lives of people who respond to His call.
Local Outreach
The Pregnancy Care Centre, Women's Dream Centre, Shiloh Youth Ranch and Campus Ministries at the U of A all benefit from our support.
International Outreach
While we continue to honor historic commitments to our work in countries like Tanzania and Guatemala, we will turn our focus on two new countries in 2010:
India - More than a billion people live in this country which dominates south Asia. Our investment in Ghaghra, Jharkhand is building a Mercy Centre (school) to accommodate over 400 children. The chapel in this facility will be used to plant a new church to reach families in this area.
Bhutan - This country is perched in the Himalayas between India and China and is one of the least evangelized nations in the world. Bhutan was closed to Christians until 1965 and even now there is no evangelism allowed. In 1999, a ban on technologies was lifted, making this country one of the last countries to introduce television. Bhutan's political system has developed from an absolute monarchy into a constitutional monarchy.
The Time Is Now!
There is an open door into Bhutan through the Jaigaon Bible Training Centre. Located at the Bhutan and India border, it currently has 21 students. It's primary purpose is to establish house churches in Bhutan. Financial support will come through Bhutan micro business enterprises and these students will risk their lives to proclaim the good news of Christ.
Property has been purchased. New facilities are needed at a cost of $66,000. The annual cost to operate this training centre will be $43,000. Our investment will make a difference in India and Bhutan.
