Our defining values are distinctive lessons and beliefs that our church has reached in the course of fulfilling our ministry charter.
We are called to serve the people of greater Edmonton.
We have a vision for growth that includes a commitment to quality relationships and care for individuals.
We place high value on unity in the body and encourage charactered respect for each other's diversity.
We are evangelical and Pentecostal in theology. We desire our corporate worship to be a time of vital communion with God where the congregation experiences the work of the Holy Spirit.
Just as people differ in personality, so individuals vary in worship style. We accept that different styles of expression are equally biblical and are acceptable to God according to the authenticity and genuineness of the worshipper.
We base our fellowship firmly on primary doctrine with tolerance of secondary doctrinal
differences.
We stress biblical balance, resisting tangents and extremes.
We challenge believers to involvement and committed service in the body.
We prayerfully maintain a sense of direction, with plans to reach objectives.
We sustain a variety of strong programs of ministry.
We have a strong emphasis on stewardship but financial appeals are low key.
We value ethnic diversity in the congregation.
We believe
... that the most humanitarian thing a person can do is help another human
being prepare for their eternity.
... that God has something next for every person, regardless of where they are at
on the spiritual spectrum.
... that God's will for a person is to do the 'next right thing.'
... that life change happens through a process of encounters with the Holy Spirit.
... in being progressive, innovative, and open to change.
... that presenting the same truth in different ways connects with different subsets
of people.
... leadership is accountable and practice a participatory form of church
governance.
... in the importance of credible communication to and participation in the
community.
